There
are unlimited possibilities for mobile services
which syncronises your cellphone's data to your computer. Listed
below are just a few examples of how it can be implemented in
practice.
Typical
sync installation
The
subscriber would like to receive emails directly on their cellphone
as it arrives at the emails server. On top of that, all PIM data
(Contacts, Calendar and Task) on the cellphone need to be kept in
sync with the PIM data stored in Outlook.
By
registering an account on the Sync Server and installing a small
piece of software on both the cellphone and the PC, all PIM data will
be kept in sync without ever having to physically connect your
cellphone to your computer. Additionally, the sync server which
drives the mobile platform, will monitor
the subscriber's email server, and as soon as new emails arrive, the
Sync Server will push the emails to the phone.
Additional
Sync services Using
some customized application development to create tailor-made
solutions, it is possible to sync additional datasources to your
cellphone and/or Outlook. Examples will include:
Synchronise
client's PIM data in company's accounting package, with the CEO's
cellphone/Outlook.
As
soon as a PA sets up a meeting in Outlook, the Outlook
calendar sync
function will ensure that all the people invited to the meeting will
immediately get the request on their cellphones. No need to send
emails containing invitations.
