Not only can users access data and view results on these phone applications, SMS and email messages are generated based on the customer's enquiry and forwarded to the business.

The applications are managed (setup) via a web interface. This allows for the creation of relevant menu structures and responses. As an example the latest examination results can be shown for a learner calling from a cell number registered with the educational organisation. Details of the transaction as well as the follow up action required by the business (if any, for example dispatch and billing in the case of an order) are pushed back into the business application for further processing.

All transactions are captured and displayed in detail on a management screen which is made accessible via a web interface. Appropriate replies from the user are routed to the business owner's email inbox.

The client's cell number is used to identify existing users (eg learners) or serves as contact to pursue incoming orders, eg an SMS may be sent to the client requesting them to send a reply message back to the server. In this way response SMS;s may be used to ask the user to respond with delivery details. The business owner might also use the cell number to call the client.

If the business operates through agents the client cell number may also be used to link agents with clients to effect delivery and allocate commission.
